Litter development milestones
At Bredwell Puppies, we take great pride in raising our puppies with love, care, and attention to every detail of their development. Here’s a glimpse into the exciting milestones our puppies reach as they grow, ensuring they’re ready to join their forever families as happy, healthy companions.
Birth to 2 Weeks Of Age (Neonatal Period):
At Bredwell Puppies, we believe that raising healthy, confident, and affectionate Cavoodle, Spoodle, and Moodle puppies begins long before they ever open their eyes. The first stage of a puppy’s life—known as the neonatal period—is one of the most crucial times for growth and development.
The neonatal period refers to the very first stage of a puppy’s life—from birth until around two weeks of age. During this time, a puppy is completely dependent on its mother and breeder for warmth, nutrition, and safety. Learn more

2 Weeks: Eyes Open, World Awaits
At two weeks old, our puppies begin to open their eyes and ears, starting to take in the world around them. You’ll see them make their first wobbly attempts at walking—a heartwarming sight as they explore their surroundings.
4 Weeks: The Fun Begins
By four weeks, our puppies start to explore solid food alongside nursing. This is when their playful personalities really start to shine as they engage with their littermates. Listen closely, and you might hear their first adorable barks and growls!

6 Weeks: Curious and Confident
At six weeks, our little ones are full of energy and curiosity. They’ve begun teething, which means lots of playful chewing, and they’re mastering the art of playing gently with their siblings, learning crucial social skills. It’s at this time that they’ve had their first vaccination.
8 Weeks: Ready for a New Adventure
At eight weeks, our puppies have completed their weaning process and received their first vaccinations. They’re now fully ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives with their new families. These puppies are well-socialised, full of love, and eager to meet you!
These milestones are thoughtfully planned to ensure our puppies are well-prepared for their future homes, making them the perfect addition to your family. Ensuring Your Puppy’s Future: The Benefits of Choosing an Approved Commercial Dog Breeder
Are you considering welcoming a new puppy into your home? If so, you’re about to embark on an exciting journey filled with companionship, joy, and unforgettable moments. However, the path to puppy parenthood comes with crucial decisions, and one of the most important is where you acquire your furry friend. In this quest, you’ve probably come across the term ‘Approved Commercial Dog Breeder,’ and wondered why it’s a significant factor to consider. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll shed light on the approval process and inspection that these breeders undergo, and explain why it’s beneficial for potential puppy buyers like you.
Understanding the Approval Process and Inspection
Approved Commercial Dog Breeders are distinguished by their commitment to upholding exceptional standards in dog breeding. Their journey towards approval involves a rigorous process to ensure the welfare of their dogs and the quality of the puppies they produce.
1. Application Review
It all begins with an application. Potential Approved Commercial Dog Breeders submit detailed applications to Animal Welfare Victoria, ensuring they contain all the necessary information. This initial step sets the stage for transparency and accountability in the breeding process. Animal Welfare Victoria reviews these applications, working closely with applicants to address any questions or concerns.
2. Property Inspection
One of the most significant aspects of this approval process is the physical inspection of the breeder’s property. Unlike many breeders who may operate without such oversight, Approved Commercial Dog Breeders undergo a thorough inspection by an authorised officer. Importantly, the inspection occurs in the presence of the breeder, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of the breeding facility. This stringent scrutiny is designed to ensure the dogs are raised in a clean, safe, and humane environment. It also checks for adherence to regulations regarding housing conditions, hygiene, and overall animal well-being.
This property inspection isn’t something breeders can opt-out of; it is requested by the Chief Veterinary Officer, a respected figure in the field. Their recommendations carry significant weight and are instrumental in the approval process.
3. Timely Availability
To make this process as efficient as possible, the breeder must be readily available during the inspection. This ensures the inspection can be scheduled promptly, allowing the breeder to meet the timeline associated with the approval process. It demonstrates their commitment to transparency and the welfare of their dogs.
4. Ministerial Approval
Once Animal Welfare Victoria completes its review, valid applications are forwarded to the Minister for Agriculture for consideration. This step acts as a final layer of accountability. The Minister evaluates the application and the inspection results to make an informed decision.
5. Notification of Outcome
The Minister for Agriculture is committed to transparency in this process. They provide written notification of the outcome to the breeder within 60 days of receiving the valid application and fee. This transparency allows both breeders and potential puppy buyers to have confidence in the integrity of the process.
Why Choose an Approved Commercial Dog Breeder?
Now that you understand the rigorous approval process and inspection that Approved Commercial Dog Breeders undergo, you might be wondering why this is crucial for potential puppy buyers.
1. Health and Welfare
Choosing a puppy from an Approved Commercial Dog Breeder ensures that your future furry friend was raised in a healthy and humane environment. The rigorous property inspection checks for clean and safe conditions, promoting the well-being of the dogs and the puppies they produce. This means your new puppy is more likely to be free from health issues common in poorly managed breeding facilities including backyard breeders and puppy farms.
2. Ethical Breeding Practices
These breeders adhere to stringent standards and regulations, promoting ethical breeding practices. Their commitment to quality ensures that the puppies they produce are well-cared for and responsibly bred. This not only benefits the puppies but also contributes to the overall betterment of dog breeding practices.
3. Transparency and Accountability
The approval process is designed to be transparent and accountable. The written notification of the outcome within 60 days provides assurance that the breeder has met the necessary standards. This transparency means you can trust that your chosen breeder is held to high standards.
4. Supporting Responsible Pet Ownership
By choosing an Approved Commercial Dog Breeder, you support responsible pet ownership. You become part of a community that values the welfare of animals and works to eliminate unethical breeding practices. Your choice reflects a commitment to providing your puppy with the best start in life.
In conclusion, selecting an Approved Commercial Dog Breeder isn’t just about choosing a puppy; it’s about ensuring a bright and healthy future for your new family member. The approval process and inspection they undergo are critical elements that guarantee the well-being of the dogs and puppies, ethical breeding practices, transparency, and accountability. When you choose an Approved Commercial Dog Breeder, you’re not just bringing home a puppy; you’re becoming part of a movement that values and advocates for responsible pet ownership and the welfare of all dogs. Your choice is an investment in a future filled with joy, companionship, and peace of mind.

Hi there! I'm Chantha

What we feed our puppies
Food along with raw beef mince, which they are fed three times a day. It’s essential
to maintain this diet until your puppy reaches their first birthday, as they require a specific puppy formula dry food to ensure optimal nutrition during this critical growth phase.
If you ever decide to change your puppy’s diet, please do so very gradually. A sudden change in diet, especially switching to a different brand of dry food, can lead to gastrointestinal upsets.
Slowly transitioning to a new diet helps your puppy’s digestive system adapt more comfortably.
